‘Landcare Checks In’ is WA Landcare Network’s new opportunity for landcarers to come together to chat about landcare issues and solutions.
There is an immediate need to focus on our response in the COVID-19 health crisis, which concerns us all. In the longer term it will provide a platform for landcarers to come together to discuss a range of landcare hot topics, ask questions, share answers and support each other.
From a COVID-19 perspective, WALN is hearing on the grapevine, that many groups are concerned about the upcoming planting season, and how they are going to hold their usual community planting events and get plants in the ground with the restrictions on public gatherings. We are seeking answers about whether this activity is ‘essential’ and arguing that it is. Hear about some of the innovative ideas already being suggested.
Others are grappling with new technology and ways of communicating with members, volunteers, and staff. Of course, we are all concerned about how the economic situation will impact on future landcare funding.
Join Louise Duxbury and Caroline Hughes from WA Landcare Network to share your current issues, concerns and stories and learn from other landcarers in an informal regular chat session.
‘Landcare Checks In’ starts Monday 20 April 2.00- 3.00 pm and will run weekly.
