Experience with planting WA Christmas Tree (Nuytsia floribunda)

Experience with planting WA Christmas Tree (Nuytsia floribunda) - banner image

For the first time, I am going to plant some WA Christmas Tree (Nuytsia floribunda) in the remnant of banksia woodland reserve at Porteous Park in Sorrento. It used to exist in the area but was cleared for housing in the 80's. Has anyone had experience in planting this species - propagation from seed, survival rates after planting, rate of growth, time to first flowering?

Some advice from Richard McDowell from Wheatbelt Native Gardens – The critical issue is that seed must be collected fresh and sown immediately. Other considerations are around parasitism, and planting out etc. Also apparently APACE has grown them before and may be another location for sourcing more information.
