What’s in it for you?

As a member of WALN you will be joining a network of like-minded people who are all caring for our bushland, wetlands, waterways and coastline in a variety of ways across Western Australia.
You will enjoy the following benefits:
  • Regular newsletters and communications. Keeping you up to date on what’s happening in the WA landcare community, alerting you to funding opportunities, providing information on important landcare decisions which may impact on your work and advising of upcoming events, activities and resources.
  • Facilitated in-person and online networking events. Providing opportunities for you to share your landcare stories with the wider WA landcare community and learn from other groups. Membership entitles you to discounted event tickets where applicable.
  • Access to the Landcare Expertise Exchange (LEE) Portal. Join in real time conversations surrounding best practice that aim to reduce the silo effect amongst groups and encourage inter-group sharing of knowledge and skills, leveraging existing expertise to sustain and build capacity in the sector.
  • Let people know what your group is up to. You can post and manage your events on our new Community Calendar.
  • Access to the Project Bank.  Are you looking for some funding for a project? Post your unfunded projects here. For examples check out the WALN Project Bank.
  • Access and interaction with the Knowledge Hub. Looking for some advice or guidance on a topic? Check out our Resource Library or watch past Landcare Checks Ins (LCI) and Landcare Build Skills (LBS).
  • Discounted insurance under the WALN Insurance Scheme. Available to all WALN Ordinary Members, uses collective bargaining to significantly lower costs and provide affordable insurance to a range of landcare groups undertaking basic Landcare work.
  • Be a part of a State and National voice for Landcare. WALN represents the views of its members and amplifies these concerns to State and Federal representatives. We aim to better support and build capacity of Landcare in WA through strong advocacy.
  • What does the future look like for Landcare in WA? Help guide our strategic vision as a community group representative on the committee at WALN and cast your vote for other committee positions at WALN General Meetings. (WALN Ordinary Members have one vote at AGMs and Special General Meetings.)
