Project Overview

Aiming to protect 35 ha of TEC Banksia woodland by fencing to prevent stock access and spraying to get rid of the veldt grass invasion.

Methods used

5 km of fencing will be installed around the boundary of this remnant vegetation to exclude stock to reduce damage to this TEC and to encourage natural regeneration. 

Perennial Veldt grass and other invasive plants will be controlled using the appropriate chemical spray.

Dieback treatment will also be applied to further protect any degradation of the vegetation.

Expected Outcomes

Once the fence has been installed and the weeds controlled, it is expected that there will be a significant increase in the amount of regeneration of this ecosystem.
